Halloween Horror Nights- Orlando 2024

Not for the faint of heart, but this event is spooktacularly fun!

Every fall, Halloween Horror Nights takes over Universal Studios Florida in Orlando, Florida. This special ticketed event takes place on select nights, typically from late August/early September until the end of October/early November.

The stage is set at Universal for the spookiest season from the moment you arrive.

The event begins at 6:30pm and runs until 2:00am. This year the event is August 30 - November 3, 2024 running Wednesday through Sunday night each week. At this time, all event dates are still available for purchase. Tickets start at $83 per person with weeknights and earlier in the season being the least expensive option.

This event is not recommended for guests under the age of 13. It is designed to be scary, and features loud noises, fog elements, flashing lights, and more.

If you're a bit of a scaredy-cat, it's great to attend Halloween Horror Nights with friends and folks you trust and enjoy being in the company of.

What’s included with your ticket:

  • 10 Haunted Houses: A Quiet Place, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, Insidious: the Further, Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines, Monstruous: The Monsters of Latin America, Slaughter Sinema 2, The Museum: Deadly Exhibits, Major Sweets Candy Factory, Goblin’s Feast, Triplets of Terror

  • 5 ScareZones: Enter the Blumhouse, Torture Faire, Swamp of the Undead, Duality of Fear, Demon Queens

  • Nightmare Fuel show- Nocturnal Circus

  • Select attractions will also be open during the event

  • Guests can also purchase event exclusive beverages during the evening.

Guests wanting to make the most of the event can look at add ons like using Stay and Scream, Express Pass or even a RIP Tour.

Stay and Scream is available either as a purchase add on for $55 per person plus tax for access to Universal Studios Florida between 3 and 5pm OR if a guest has a day ticket to Universal Studios Florida they can also use Stay and Scream. Guests with Stay and Scream access are able to get in lines for the haunted houses as the park closes to non-event guests at 5pm. Guests using this option can often complete a house or two before the event begins at 6pm.

Express Passes are available to purchase for the event which will include the Express Pass lane for the haunted houses and any open ride attractions. These are a separate purchase from the ticket and separate from the standard park Express Passes. This means that guests who are staying at a premier resort do NOT have express pass for Halloween Horror nights and would need to purchase if they wish to use this perk.

RIP Tour: There are two types of tours, private and non-private. The private RIP Tour is for up to 10 guests for 4 hours where your RIP guide will take you to a special entrance to the haunted houses, guide you through the scarezones and bring you to priority seating at the show. Guests can also enjoy these benefits with a non-private tour except this will be for a party of 6 or less with a total of 12 guests in your tour (if you have 7 or more guests, you will need to book a private tour). Guests also receive complimentary valet parking and will be greeted with a special reception 30 minutes prior to the start of their tour in an exclusive lounge. Non-private tours start at $360 per person plus tax. Private tour rates can be provided upon request; just ask your Goofy Getaways Travel Consultant!

There is a live show as a part of this event; be sure to check out the signage for special warnings.

If you are headed to Halloween Horror Nights this year, here are a few tips for you:

  • Consider Stay and Scream, Express Pass or a RIP tour if the Haunted Houses are a priority. Otherwise, it might be challenging to visit all 10 houses in the same night (especially on a weekend).

  • The big houses this year are in the themes of Insidious, A Quiet Place, and Ghostbusters. Plan to visit these with Stay and Scream or later in the event for shorter wait times if you are not using Express Pass or a tour.

  • The Mini Stay Puft Smore at the Ghostbusters kiosk is popular and a very fun treat!

  • Insidious is the house that is getting reviews for being very intense. If you are a bit nervous, consider this house later in the evening and go with friends.

Get started while it's still daylight; this helps with comfort and getting acclimated to your surroundings.

If you are a bit of a scaredy cat but still want to try this really fun event:

  • Bring a set of ear plugs. The event tends to be very loud so having ear plugs can help reduce the overall intensity.

  • Go with friends. Attend with people who you feel comfortable with so you have someone to hold onto as you walk through the houses and scare zones.

  • Arrive during daylight. Being able to see things during the daytime can help you feel more comfortable as it gets dark. Bonus: there is a special tour available for booking during the day called Unmasking the Horror Tour which offers a 3 or 6 house tour where you can walk through some of the haunted houses with the lights on.

  • Stick to the sidewalks. Scare actors for the scare zones do not go up onto the sidewalks. So as you start the event, walk on the sidewalk “through” the scare zones so you can still see the experience without having to walk through the middle of it.

  • Take breaks through the night. Avoid doing houses back to back. Go check out a ride or grab a bite to eat so you can relax for a few minutes.

  • Start with less intense houses. Based on reviews, Ghostbusters and Major Sweets Candy Factory seem to be the least intense houses and may be a good starting point.

Please remember that costumes are not allowed and guests should never touch scare actors.
