Blizzard Beach- Finding Winter in Walt Disney World

Looking for a day away or a break from the 4 Disney theme parks? Why not check out the “coolest” place on Disney property….Disney’s Blizzard Beach Waterpark. Blizzard Beach is the product of a freak snowstorm that blanketed part of the Walt Disney world resort with snow, with mountains of snow Disney decided to make Florida’s first ever ski resort. Well Florida being Florida it warmed up again and everything started to melt creating the “coolest” water park around.
There are different quick service options throughout the park along with snack locations and bars. The waterparks have their own refillable mug. You are able to purchase it and use it throughout the day and several fill stations. Fun fact: at the main dining area, The Lottawatta Lodge you are able to fill your mug at coke freestyle machines which give you so many different options throughout your day. If you are doing more than one day at the waterpark you are able to take your mug with you the next day and just pay an activation fee for the day. If you are looking for a fun ice cream treat check out IC expeditions and the Sand pail. It is an ice cream sundae with all different toppings and things added to it that is served to you in a sand pail. A fun treat to share. For those with mobility issues or wheelchair users, Blizzard beach does have water wheelchairs that can be used. Both the wave pool and the pool is Ski Patrol training Camp have zero depth entries that the wheelchairs can go in and use. Along with that there are accessible entrances to the lazy river. On the chairlift there is a Gondola that  can take someone in a wheelchair to the top of Mount Gushmore. Once up there, they are able to access accessible paths to the different attractions. If you are looking for a fun in the sun and snow experience while at Disney then Blizzard Beach Waterpark is the place for you.
