Food & Wine- Wine Review

Travel Planner Fallon recently visited the Food & Wine Festival at EPCOT and share's some reviews of the "Wine" selections available.Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival is by far one of the most exciting events that Walt Disney World has to offer! Each year brings new flavors from around the world, introducing us to numerous cultures through culinary delights. Not surprisingly, the “Wine” portion of the Food and Wine Festival attracts quite the crowd of adults with and without children. The following drinks are some of my picks that stand out, either for quality, intrigue, or price.

  • Strawberry Rose Mimosa, France pavilion ($8.50)- Short of surprising, my top pick for the best drink of the festival comes from the France pavilion. The Strawberry Rose Mimosa, made with Pol Remy Sparkling Wine, Orange Juice, and Monin Strawberry Rose, is a gorgeous, crisp sip that makes for a perfect start to a day of enjoying sweet libations from around the world. It’s tart, refreshing, and everything that a mimosa should be. Rating- 5/5.

  • Wine Flight, Spain booth between Italy pavilion and Germany pavilion ($6.25)- To round out this list, the wine flight from the Spain booth between Italy and Germany can’t be overlooked. With a selection of an Avaline White Blend, a Faustino VII Rioja Rosado, and an Espelt Garnacha, the variety that you get is fantastic for the price. However, the quality of the wines is not up to par with many of the others offered at the festival. Even still, the opportunity to try three Spanish wines is definitely worth the price. Rating- 3/5
  • Honorable Mention- Mimosa Flight, Shimmering Sips booth at entry of World Showcase ($13.00)- The Mimosa Flight is an offering that appears every year at the Food and Wine Festival, in some variety or another. This year’s flight includes a Tropical Mimosa with Sparkling Wine and that juice blend that we all know and love, Passion Fruit, Orange, and Guava; a Key Lime Mimosa with Key Lime Sparking Wine and Cranberry Juice; and a Blood Orange Mimosa with Sparkling Wine and Blood Orange Juice. A refreshing choice all around and perfect for sharing (or trying them all yourself, wink, wink), the Mimosa Flight is practically the price of two individual mimosas, so do yourself a favor and go ahead and get the flight the first time around. Rating- 5/5
