Moderate Resorts at Walt Disney World

Looking for more perks of staying on property during your Walt Disney World vacation but not comfortable spending a deluxe resort price tag?  Moderate resorts may be the perfect answer.  These resorts have additional amenities beyond the value resorts, offer larger rooms, but without can often be fairly close in price with many of the value resort rooms.Moderate resorts all have pools and quick service restaurants like value resorts, but their pools also feature hot tubs and/or water slides and all but Port Orleans French Quarter offer a table service meal option as well (please note that some dining locations many be temporarily unavailable during this time).Moderate resorts tend to be slightly quieter but are also often more spread out than value resorts.  This means that they have multiple bus stop locations, but this can mean that if you are not at the first bus stop pick up location, buses many fill before getting to your location (but don't worry, Disney will send more so you will still have your transportation to the parks).Let's take a look at the Moderate resorts at Walt Disney World.Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort      This beautiful resort is themed like a Caribbean getaway, but the biggest perk here is the Skyliner!  On either ends of the CBR property sit the direct Skyliner's to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios (guests from POP/Art of Animation have to unload at this location and reload to their next destination).  The rooms are a good size and the resort is working through updating the rooms to remove carpet, update bathroom fixtures and more.  Quick service and meal options are located at Old Port Royale (the main building).  This is also the location of the main pool.  Additional pools are located throughout the property as well.  Consider booking a Pirate room for some extra fun. This moderate resort is located not fair from the EPCOT resort area which means it is a short distance to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Wide World of Sports.  This resort has a fairly central location on WDW property for ease to each park.  This resort is also walking distance to Disney's Riveria Resort (a DVC property) will allows guests access to the quick service location here as well (and their food is delicious).Disney's Coronado Springs ResortEscape to the Southwest! This resort recently underwent quite a few renovations and also added the Gran Destino Tower (Tower rooms which offer a deluxe feel at a more moderate price).  This property sits fairly central in the WDW property despite being considered an Animal Kingdom resort.  It also offers a fitness center and spa on site in addition to a convention center (the NBA season for 2020 was completed here!).  This resort definitely has a more adult feel, but their pool known as the Dig Site will inspire the imagination for any age.  The on site food options are wonderful.      The biggest draw back to this resort is its size and the fact that the only transportation is buses. The Cabin's at Fort WildernessPay a moderate price tag but stay on deluxe property!  The cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness campground are a great option for the family as they can sleep 6 and offer a separate bedroom and full kitchen.  The campground also has access to the the deluxe dining options of the Fort Wilderness resort and the ferry boat across Bay Lake to Magic Kingdom.  The cabins can offer some additional space and a rustic feel with modern amenities.  You can even rent a golf cart to transport you around the large property.Other fun activities at Fort Wilderness include great pools and horse back riding for children at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch.Port Orleans- Riverside  (Temporarily Unavailable)Take a walk down south and stroll through the "Alligator Bayou" to enjoy some Southern charm.  This quiet resort has great rooms and dining options but can feel spread out.  As mentioned before, there are multiple bus stops so transportation is never far away.  Other fun transportation here includes carriage rides and a boat ride to Disney Springs.  You can select a "Royal Guest room" with a fun Princess and the Frog theme as well!       Port Orleans- French Quarter (Temporarily Unavailable)Find a taste of New Orleans while at Walt Disney World.  Within walking distance of Port Orleans Riverside, this is the only moderate resort without a table service meal (though it does have a fun lounge).  However, this is place to find tasty beignets.   This resort also offers a boat ride to Disney Springs and is the smallest of the moderate resorts allowing a quiet, relaxing feel throughout. Want to know more about staying at a Walt Disney World Moderate resort?  Reach out to your Travel Planner today.
