7 WDW Budget Tips

A Walt Disney World vacation can be expensive and from your stay, to tickets, to dining, to experiences and more, things can add up quickly. However, there are ways to help avoid overspending and we have 7 tips.

Book as Soon as Possible

The sooner you book, the more resort selections you will have available plus you protect yourself against potential price increases by submitting a $200 deposit. Plus if Disney releases a discount later, that can be applied to your package even after it’s booked.

Consider Staying on Property

Many guests assume that staying off site will be less expensive but then additional expenses like transportation to and from the parks, possible parking fees and other expenses can start to add up quickly. Walt Disney World’s value resorts are still great options and even offer some family suites that sleep up to 6 guests per room. Daily theme park parking alone is $25 per day for off site guests.

Bring Food

You can actually bring food into the parks (there are limitations on the size of the cooler and you cannot bring loose ice). So packing a lunch to eat in the parks or even packing snacks is a great way to save on costs. Even if you fly in, you can have groceries delivered to your resort to bring your food into the parks or even to just eat breakfast in your room before you head to the parks for the day.

Share Meals

Did you know that adults can order off the kids menu or that you can share meals at many dining locations? While there will be some instances like buffets or pre-fixed meals that will not allow you to share, this is a great way to help cut costs and leave more room to enjoy other snacks or food around the parks as well.

Bring Essentials in Your Park Bag

Avoid paying extra costs for things like hand sanitizer, rain ponchos or even a marker for autographs by purchasing these items ahead of time and bringing them with you. There is no point in paying Disney prices for these items if you don’t need to.

Use Disney Gift Cards

You can purchase Disney gift cards at many locations like Target, Sams Club, Kroger, at a discount which means you are automatically saving on your trip. Also, having gift cards with set amounts to spend in the parks instead of using a credit card can help you stay on budget.
